Of course! Your lawn care & maintenance services estimate is always provided free of charge and valid for 30 days. By providing an email address we are able to get your estimate with relevant services & pricing to you in a timely manner.

Yes! Should the need arise, Legit Lawns carries extensive liability insurance.

We service Halifax Regional Municipality, primarily the Dartmouth & surrounding areas. Reach out to us to see if we are able to service your area!

Legit Lawns is a proud family owned business, therefore we do all the work ourselves. Reminder emails are sent the night before a service day, to remind you that we will be at your property the following day. 

Weekly & bi-weekly lawn maintenance services will be invoiced on the last service date of the month, tendering out month to month. For example, if your lawn is mowed on Tuesdays, you will be invoiced on the last Tuesday of the month.

A la-carte services will be invoiced the same day after service is performed. 

All invoices are due upon receipt. Payment may be made via e-transfer to info@legitlawns.ca or via payment links attached to your invoice. 

For most common grass types in Nova Scotia, it is recommended to mow at 2.5" to 3.5". In the spring & fall months when grass thrives, we mow closer to 2.5". In the summer heat we raise our mowing height closer to 3.5". We mulch as much as possible and we adjust the height accordingly to promote a healthy lawn that does not become sensitive to drought or promote disease & weed growth.

Weekly mowing starts at the beginning of May, running to the end of October (weather dependent). Frequent mowing will help promote a strong & healthy yard. In April we begin dethatching/aerating services, lime applications & yard clean ups!

We are very conscious about not doing damage to your yard and providing a job that we can all be proud of. Therefore, if there is light drizzle/rain and we feel it is safe to perform services, we will do so. If not, service will be moved to the following day. Communication via email will be provided.

To promote healthy roots and a thick lawn, it is recommended to get 1 inch of water per week. This includes rain water. As a general rule of thumb, watering for 20 mins in the early morning every other day is best!
